C02

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is the most common of the reactive gases used in MIG welding and the only one that can be used in its pure form without the addition of an inert gas. CO2 is also the least expensive of the common shielding gases, making a popular choice when material costs are the main priority.

Pure CO2 provides very deep weld penetration, which is useful for welding thick material; however, it also produces a less stable arc and more spatter than when it is mixed with other gases. It is also limited to only the short circuit process. You will get a cleaner weld using our Argon Lite.

Carbon dioxide is suitable for a wide range of applications other than welding; our Industrial grade cylinder can be used for hydroponics and aquatics.

All our cylinders are 100% HSE compliant, fully tested and labelled for easy identification.

Argon Lite

Our Argon Lite is the UK’s most popular mix for MIG, mild steel welding. It is a precise blend of gas made up of 93% Argon, 5% Carbon Dioxide and 2% Oxygen. Argon Lite is perfect for MIG welding of steel less than 5mm thick, such as car bodywork and thin sheet metal work. The mix of Argon, CO2 and Oxygen gives the perfect blend between arc stability, penetration and reduced spatter.

Argon Lite is also known as Argoshield Light (BOC), Cougar 5 (Air Products), Corgan 5 (Linde Gas), Hobbyweld 5 (Hobbyweld Gas), MIG Shield 5 (Ryval Gas) and Exellar 5(Air Liquide).

All our welding gas cylinders use the same industry standard regulator fittings as BOC, Air Products, Energas and Hobbyweld,

Argon HP

Pure Argon gas is an inert shielding and welding gas which is most commonly used for most TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding applications of aluminium and stainless steel copper and cast iron. It is most commonly used when welding aluminium and stainless steel in thin sections. Pure Argon gas has a minimum of 99.995% purity which enables you to make a perfect weld each time; it has a stable arc with easy starting.

It is now also widely used in the manufacture of sealed double glazed window units.

All our welding gas cylinders use the same industry standard regulator fittings as BOC, Air Products, Energas and Hobbyweld,

Oxygen

This gas is commonly and traditionally used with a fuel gas such as Propane, Acetylene or Propylene; for cutting, welding, soldering and brazing.

Oxygen supports the combustion of these gases and enables a much higher flame temperature to be achieved in comparison with air.

All our welding gas cylinders use the same industry standard regulator fittings as BOC, Air Products, Energas and Hobbyweld,
